On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is a great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the 45th Annual Meeting of the EHRS in Florence.
It is the 4th time that Florence hosts the meeting of this “unique” society. Florence, as well, is unique for the Renaissance art and Italian geniuses who were born here. In 2016 Florence will celebrate the anniversary of Brunelleschi’s death, the Renaissance architect who concept and design the dome of Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral. Brunelleschi was also involved in social enterprises, such as the Spedale degli Innocenti, first orphanage of Europe, where the meeting will be hosted.
We hope that histamine research will have a new Renaissance in Florence; we offer you a very interesting program with plenary lectures, symposia, oral presentations and posters.
Posters prizes will be awarded as well as prizes for the two best oral presentations given by young scientists in a competitive “Young investigators Award Symposium”.
Two symposia, one on “Food allergies” and one on “Mast cells and basophils” will be held.
Besides science, we will also enjoy social events. The Opening Ceremony will be held in “Aula Magna” of Florence University. Prof. Donatella Lippi, expert in History of Medicine, will give a lecture about “Brunelleschi and medicine”. We will visit the Botanical Garden, San Marco Convent and Museum, basilica of Santissima Annunziata. We will also enjoy a trip to Lucca, for both scientists and accompanying persons. The farewell dinner will take place in a prestigious historical palace.
We are looking forward to seeing you all in Florence!
